At face value, the air conditioning machine is a marvel of modern technology. However, behind it is an intricate system of machinery and gases that are responsible for all that they do. The latter is directly responsible for cooling down the room.  Puron and Freon are the gases, which we experience, whenever we turn on the AC!

What are Puron and Freon?

Puron and Freon are refrigerant gases that interact with the internal mechanisms of the air conditioner to produce a cooling effect. They usually absorb the heat from the environment and work in harmony with other components, such as evaporators and compressors. These refrigerants transition consistently and periodically from low-pressure gas to high-pressure liquid, which is what produces the overall ‘cool’ breeze that air conditioners propel forward.

Puron vs. Freon Efficiency – The Great Debate

As mentioned above, Puron and Freon both are used for air conditioning purposes as refrigerant gases. However, as of 1990, the Clean Air Act states that the latter, Freon, is officially a ‘dangerous’ gas due to its effects on the ozone layer and the subsequent environmental hazards. Puron doesn’t have this fallacy, which is why it is recommended and currently being implemented as the first long-term solution for ozone depletion. The dates that have been anticipated mention 2020 as the upper threshold by which all appliances that use Freon as the primary gas to be off the market.

Why Puron is Better for Your Home

Puron has many benefits and perks. The most notable one is that unlike its predecessor, it is safe for the environment since it does not produce any greenhouse gases in its consumption. Puron is also more energy efficient, likely to give you more bang for your buck. It is because of that that your air conditioner won’t have to work overtime when cooling. This will save money on your utility bills, and due to the relaxed nature of the gas, you won’t have to worry about faulty mechanism breakdowns in the long run. Furthermore, Puron also presents virtually no fire risks, unlike Freon. This refrigerant gas has no combustible components which mean you don’t always have to be on the lookout for smoke.

Save the Environment

It is safe to conclude that our activities and habits are what inevitably shape the environment. When science and technology swept the globe, no one anticipated the subsequent environmental degradation that would follow. Hence, every responsible citizen must ensure that they do their part in being environmentally sustainable and smart, using products that are safer for us, and our children. Puron is slowly but surely taking over in the air conditioning world for the simple fact that it’s cleaner for our society, and our homes!
